Sk Taxi Services is run out of Takshila Chs on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. It’s a pretty busy area with lots of traffic coming through from the caves and the offices around here. We started this because we knew the roads well and had a few cars ready to go. The office is just a simple space where we keep the keys and the duty rosters for the drivers. Every morning is a bit of a rush, trying to see who is available and which car needs a quick wash or some air in the tires. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure the taxis are running and people get to their jobs on time. Most of our drivers live nearby, so they know the shortcuts when Mahakali Caves Road gets backed up. Sometimes a car breaks down or someone calls in sick, and we have to scramble a bit. That's just how the taxi business goes. It’s not always smooth, but we've been doing it long enough to not get too worried. We keep a pot of coffee going and listen to the radio while we wait for the next call. It’s honest work. We stay here until late most nights making sure everyone got home okay. Just a local business trying to keep moving.
