Our office is tucked away in the Shivam Building, which is unit 18 in Dahisar East. We are situated in Sector-35-B, a part of the neighborhood that has gotten much busier since we first started. Most of our day is spent handling phone calls and writing down names in our registers. It is a simple place with a few desks and some old calendars on the wall. We help people figure out their travel plans, whether they are going on a short trip or something further away. The drivers often stop by in the morning to pick up their papers before the traffic on the highway gets too bad. You can usually hear the sound of the trains from the station nearby if it is quiet enough. We don’t have any fancy lounge or air conditioning that works all the time. It is just a practical space for us to get the work done. Sometimes the neighbors from the other flats in Shivam Building come in just to say hello or ask for a bit of help with a booking. We know most of the people around here by name. The afternoons can be quite slow and hot, so we usually keep the door open to catch a breeze. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local spot where we try to keep things organized. We have a lot of maps and old brochures piled up on the side shelf from over the years.
