Tarana Leather Arts

Our workshop and shop are located in Dharavi, specifically at Shop No. 4 in the New Parsi Chawl area. It’s near the Sion Bandra Link Road, right by the Kala Kila Gold shop. The area is quite a maze if you aren't used to it. We have another spot nearby on 90ft Road near the Citizen Hotel. Most of our time at Tarana Leather Arts is spent working with our hands. You can hear the sounds of tools and machines from the street all day. It’s a very busy neighborhood with a lot of leather work going on everywhere. We have piles of hides and finished pieces scattered around. It’s a bit dusty and the smell of leather is always in the air. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s a place where work actually happens. We have several small units like the one at A-3-137. Moving between the different shops takes a few minutes through the narrow lanes. We know all the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit place. We just focus on making things day after day. Sometimes we have to move stuff around to make space for new arrivals. It’s a bit cramped, but we are used to it. People find us because they know the Kala Kila landmark. We just keep doing what we’ve been doing for years. Nazrana Leather is also part of our daily routine at the other unit near the hotel.
