Rakesh Leathers

We've been at Rakesh Leathers on Sion Bandra Link Road for a good while now. Our spot is right across from Parsi Chawl in Kala Killa. It's a busy area with lots of noise from the road, but we get used to it. We deal with all sorts of leather items here. It's dusty work sometimes. We open up in the morning and stay late most days. People stop by when they’re passing through. The building is older, No. 5/92- B, but it works for what we need. It's just a few of us handling the orders and making sure things get done right. Sometimes the shipments are late or the weather makes things tough, but that’s just how it goes in Mumbai. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's more of a practical space where the actual work happens. You’ll find us easily if you look for the Parsi Chawl landmark. We try to keep things simple. No big speeches or anything, just honest work with leather. If you need something fixed or are looking for a specific hide, we're usually around. The link road gets really packed in the evenings, so we usually try to finish up before the worst of the traffic hits. It’s a decent life here. We see the same faces every morning at the tea stall nearby. It's not a big corporate setup, just a local business minding our own business. It can be a long day, especially when the orders pile up, but we just take it one step at a time.
