We operate Sinful D Lites from a space on DK Sandu Marg in Chembur. It’s at 435/901, so it’s not exactly a big shop on the main road. Most of what we do is small-scale. We spend our days baking and trying to get the recipes to turn out right. Sometimes the oven is a bit temperamental and things get a little darker than they should, but that’s just how it goes when you’re doing it by hand. Chembur is a nice area, and we’ve lived here for a long time. This isn't some polished bakery with a marble counter. It’s more of a workspace where we get things done. We don't have a big team, just a few of us helping out. We focus on cakes and desserts. The ingredients take up most of the room in the kitchen. It can get pretty hot in there when the ovens have been on all afternoon. We don’t use any fancy words to describe what we make. It’s just food. We write down orders in a notebook and try to keep up with the phone when it rings. It’s a bit chaotic during the festive months, but we manage. We aren't trying to become a huge chain or anything like that. We just like having our own thing to run. It’s a lot of washing dishes and cleaning up flour, but it’s our daily life and we are used to it.
