Over here on Sahar Road in Andheri East, things never really stop. This part of Mumbai is always moving because the airport is so close. We are located in Parsiwada, which has its own rhythm. Sigrun Realties Ltd. has this office here and it is a very different vibe from the outskirts. You can hear the planes and the constant honking from the street outside. It’s a small office but we manage to get a lot done. We spend the day talking on the phone and meeting people who want to move to this area. The walls are a bit thin, so you hear everything that goes on next door. We keep a stash of biscuits and tea for when guests arrive. Mumbai real estate is a headache most days, but it is what we know. We have files stacked up on every available surface. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we find what we need eventually. The humidity can be tough in the summer months, making the papers curl. We just keep the fan spinning and carry on. People drop in without appointments all the time. It’s just how things work in this neighborhood. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see us at our desks working through the daily pile of documents.
