Shree Uday Milk Dairy

We are located in Malad East, right at Shop Number 2 on the ground floor of the Raj C building. Some people associate the area with Antop Hill. Being a dairy, our work is very much tied to the clock. The milk arrives in the dark hours of the early morning, and we have to be there to move the crates. It’s physically tiring work, lifting those heavy plastic boxes every day. We sell the basic things people need like milk, buttermilk, and sometimes curd. The shop is quite small and the walls are just plain. We have a counter that's been there for years, worn down at the edges where people lean. During the day, it gets a bit quieter, but the mornings and evenings are a total scramble. We have to keep an eye on the expiration dates constantly to make sure everything is fresh. Sometimes the fridge leaks a bit of water on the floor, so we keep a rag handy. We don't use any fancy software, just a paper diary to keep track of the monthly accounts for the regular families. The Raj C building has been here for a long time, and we've seen many businesses come and go around us. We try to keep our prices fair so the local people can afford their supplies. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in traffic and we have to wait an extra hour. We sweep the front every evening before we close up.
