Shiv Shakti Dairy Farm

Life at Shiv Shakti Dairy Farm starts pretty early, usually before most people are even awake. We are located in Andheri West, specifically in the Lalta Prasad Chawl area, inside Azad Building on Barfiwala Road. It’s a busy corner of the city. We deal with fresh milk, curd, and other dairy items every single day. The deliveries come in while it’s still dark outside, and we have to get everything ready for the morning rush. People stop by on their way to work or while they are out getting groceries for the day. The shop has a cooling unit that hums all day long. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside, especially when we have several crates of milk being moved around. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know most of the families who live in the chawl and the surrounding buildings. My grandfather started this dairy, and not much has changed since then, except maybe the traffic on Barfiwala Road has gotten much worse. We focus on keeping the stock fresh and the counters clean. It’s hard work, especially with the heavy lifting and the early hours, but it’s what we know. There’s no fancy marketing here, just the smell of fresh milk and the sound of people chatting while they wait for their order. It’s a steady life and we are happy to be part of the neighborhood. We make sure the milk is ready every single morning without fail.
