Shiv Sagar Dairy

Shiv Sagar Dairy is tucked away in Ambika Nagar over in Andheri West. You can find us at Shop B/4 in the Shyam Nagar area near Veera. Our day starts really early, usually before the sun is even up, because that’s when the milk vans arrive. We spend those first hours unloading the heavy crates and getting everything into the refrigerators. It’s cold work in the morning. By the time most people are waking up, we’ve already been busy for hours. We sell milk, curd, and sometimes a bit of paneer if we have it fresh. The shop is small, so there isn’t much room to walk around once the crates are stacked on the floor. People from the nearby buildings come in with their steel containers or just grab a few packets. We know most of the faces around here since we see them every single morning. Sometimes the fridge makes a loud buzzing sound that we have to kick to make it stop. It’s a simple routine that doesn't change much from Monday to Sunday. The floor stays a bit wet from the condensation, so we have to be careful not to slip. The street lights are usually still on when we start our shift. It’s a quiet time before the buses start running on the main road. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when there are no customers. Most of the time, we are busy cleaning the milk bags that leaked. It’s just a regular dairy shop.
