Shiv General Store

Shiv General Store is located at Plot No- 39 in Mariya Society. We are right on Gajdhar Bandh Road in Rajiv Nagar, which some people also call Govind Nagar, over in Santacruz West. This is a neighborhood shop where we sell a little bit of everything. We have milk, bread, eggs, and all the basic things people need for their kitchens. The shelves are pretty packed with snacks, soap, and household items. It is a small space, so things can get a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. I usually open the shutters early in the morning so the people going to work can grab what they need. Throughout the day, kids from the society come in for candy or biscuits. It is a friendly place. I know most of the customers by name because they live right here in Rajiv Nagar. We don't have a computer system; I just write everything down in a notebook and keep the change in a wooden drawer. Sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck is late, but people understand. It is a simple life running a store like this. I spend a lot of time sitting on the stool behind the counter, watching the traffic on Gajdhar Bandh Road. We just try to keep the staples in stock and stay open late enough for the people coming home from work.
