Shinde Masala

Shinde Masala is tucked away at No. 1, Naigaon Cross Road. We are pretty close to Wadala Udyog in Dadar East, which is a busy part of the city. There is always noise from the traffic and people walking by. Our shop is small and filled with the smell of different spices. We have been here for a good while. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and the floor is worn down. We don't have a lot of space, so everything is stacked up high. Most mornings are spent opening up the sacks and getting things ready for customers. It is a lot of manual work, weighing things out on the old scales. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just a family-style setup. Sometimes we get a bit behind when it’s crowded, but people usually don't mind waiting. We see all sorts of people coming through Dadar. It gets dusty and hot in the summer, but we keep the doors open for the breeze. We don't do any flashy advertising. People just find us because they know the name Shinde Masala from around the neighborhood. It is a basic shop, really. We just try to do our job and get home at a decent hour. It’s a simple life on Naigaon Cross Road, just keeping the spice business going.
