Our place is Room No. 3 at Patil Chawl in Shiv Nagar. It is on Quarry Road in Bhandup West. It is not a big office building or anything like that. It is just a simple room where we get together to handle the daily business for Sheth Devlopers Pvt Ltd. It gets quite hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front of the chawl directly. We have a couple of old fans going constantly just to keep the air moving. Most of our actual work is done out in the field anyway. We are usually at construction sites or meeting people about land deals. We keep all our files in some metal cabinets that have definitely seen better days. There is always a lot of noise from the street outside, but we are used to it by now. We are not the type of company that has a website with shiny photos. We just talk to people face to face. It feels more honest that way. Sometimes we have to move the chairs around just to make enough room to lay out a big map on the floor. We drink a lot of chai from the stall just down the road. It is a simple operation. We do not have fancy uniforms or corporate badges. We are just guys who know how to build things. Bhandup is our home base and we have been here for years. We just keep our heads down and get on with it.
