Sharad Engineering

You can find us in the Pannalal Compound on LBS Marg in Bhandup. We’re in the A wing of the 60 building, right on the ground floor. This compound is huge and has been here forever. It’s always buzzing with activity, people moving crates and vans trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes. Our workshop is pretty standard for Sharad Engineering. We have our lathes and drills set up where they’ve been for years. Being on the ground floor is lucky because we don’t have to lug heavy metal pieces up any stairs. The light isn’t great inside, but we have enough lamps to see what we are doing. LBS Marg is always jammed with traffic, so we hear the honking all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while. We do a lot of basic engineering and fabrication. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and making sure the cuts are straight. We have a small corner for a desk where we keep the bills and some old catalogues, but most of the action happens out on the floor. It’s a bit greasy and loud, and there’s always a layer of metal shavings on the ground by evening. We just keep our heads down and get through the jobs as they come in. It’s been our home for a long time.
