Shan Tamarind Ice Cream Parlour

We are located at Shop No 4 in Bhandup West. It's a small place, mainly known for the tamarind flavor that gives us our name. People find it a bit unusual at first, but once they try it, they usually come back. My brother and I run the counter most days. It gets really busy on the weekends when families from the nearby buildings walk over after dinner. The freezer makes a constant clicking sound that we’ve stopped noticing after all these years. We keep the place clean, but it’s definitely a lived-in shop. There’s a wooden bench outside where kids usually sit and drop their spoons. We don't have fancy menus or neon lights. Just a simple board with what we have that day. Sometimes we run out of certain things by 9 PM because the fridge space is limited. Bhandup is a loud, active neighborhood and we’re right in the middle of it. We spend a lot of time just talking to the regulars about the weather or the traffic on the main road. It’s a quiet life in a loud city. We just make the ice cream, scoop it into cups, and watch people go by. It isn't complicated and we like it that way. Most people just call us the tamarind shop now and we don't mind that.
