You can find us right on the Mumbai Main Road, which is always busy no matter what time it is. The traffic outside is pretty loud, so we usually have to speak up when someone is ordering a treat. It’s a bit of a hectic spot. The floor gets dirty fast with people walking in and out all day, so someone is always holding a broom. We have some glass cases where we put the food out, and I spend half my time wiping fingerprints off the glass. Mumbai is humid, and sometimes the air inside feels a bit heavy, but we have a small fan that helps a little bit. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The back kitchen is small and we’re always bumping into each other when it's the lunch rush. We don't really do anything fancy with the decorations; it’s just plain walls and some basic tables. Sometimes the rain comes down hard on the main road and the shop fills up with people trying to stay dry. We just give them their food and let them hang out until it clears up. It’s a practical place for a quick snack. The sign outside has a bit of rust on the edges, but everyone knows we are here. We just try to keep the snacks ready and the tea hot for whoever stops in.
