Shah Trading Corporation

We are located on the second floor of Shri Krishna Niwas, right in the middle of the New Silk Bazar on Kalbadevi Road. Our room is number 35 on Plot 35. If you’ve ever been to Kalbadevi, you know it’s a bit of a scramble getting around. The building is old, and the stairs are narrow, but it’s right in the heart of the action. Opposite us is Tak Wadi, and the whole street is always packed with carts and people. Shah Trading Corporation has been squeezed into this space for quite some time. We don't have a big lobby or a receptionist. You just walk up the stairs and find us in our room. It’s filled with papers, samples, and the sound of the ceiling fan. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who come up from the street. It’s noisy outside with all the honking and shouting from the market, but we’re used to it by now. We don't put out advertisements or try to look bigger than we are. Most of the other traders around here are our friends or people we’ve known for decades. It’s a small office, but we get a lot done. We usually have tea delivered from the shop downstairs a few times a day. It’s just the way business works in this part of Mumbai. There is always someone coming or going.
