Senate 1

Senate 1 is located inside the Grand Sarovar Premier Hotel over in Goregaon West. If you know the Vakola area, we are right opposite the MTNL Telephone Exchange. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, so there’s always something going on outside our doors. Being part of a hotel means we see a lot of travelers coming in with their suitcases and looking a bit tired from the airport. We also have people from the local offices nearby who stop in for meetings or just to get away from their desks for an hour. The space we manage is used for all sorts of gatherings. We spend a lot of time setting up tables and moving chairs around to fit whatever group is coming in that day. It’s a lot of physical work that people don't see. Sometimes the elevators are slow or the delivery truck for our supplies gets stuck in that 400062 traffic. We just handle it as it comes. We aren't a giant corporate office; we’re just the staff who keeps this specific room running. We have to make sure the lights work and the water is cold. It might not sound like much, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night. The view out the window is mostly just the city buildings and the phone exchange, but it feels like home to us now. We’ve been working here long enough to know every floorboard.
