Saurashtra Farsan Mart

We have two shops here, Number 1 and 7, over in the NC Kekar Road area of Dadar West. It’s right on the corner where Veera Desai Road meets the rest of the market. It gets very busy around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is out doing their shopping. We spend a lot of time bagging up snacks and weighing things out for people. The smell of frying usually hangs in the air because that’s what we do most of the day. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the containers and boxes of snacks piled up, but we know where everything is. We don't have any fancy displays. The snacks are just in big glass jars or steel bins so people can see what they are getting. Some customers have been coming to us since they were small, and now they bring their own children. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the demand on festival days, but we manage to get through it. The floor is always a bit dusty from the flour, no matter how much we sweep. We just like being part of the neighborhood. It’s noisy and loud outside with all the traffic, but inside we just focus on the scales and the bags. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything, just a local mart for people who want something salty to eat with their evening tea while they sit at home.
