Satyam Plastic

Satyam Plastic is over at 29 Kattawadi, inside the Sai Chamber on Rajabjai Patel Road. We are very close to the Ganesh Temple, so we hear the bells every morning and evening. It’s a nice way to start the day. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack it full of plastic household items. You’ll find buckets, stools, and all sorts of containers shoved into every available space. Sometimes it’s hard to walk through the aisles without bumping into a stack of basins. We’ve been in this part of Kattawadi for a good while. The people who live in the nearby apartments are our main customers. They come in when they need something simple for their kitchen or bathroom. Rajabjai Patel Road can get quite congested with parked cars and delivery vans, especially during the festival times because of the temple. We usually sit on small plastic chairs near the entrance to catch whatever breeze comes our way. The walls are lined with hooks holding even more stuff. We don't have a computer to ring things up; we just know the prices by heart and give people a paper receipt if they really want one. It’s a straightforward way to run a shop. We open up after the morning prayers are done and stay until it’s time for the evening ones. It’s a good, steady life here in the neighborhood, and we like seeing the familiar faces every day as they walk past to the temple or the market.
