Room No 3 in Shetty Chawl isn't very big but we make it work for what we do. It's right here in Goregaon West, tucked into that area near Bhoomi Plaza. Most people find us easily enough because we are directly opposite the Ganesh Mandir on S.B. Marg. It gets pretty noisy outside with the traffic and the bells from the temple ringing during prayers, but that is just how the neighborhood is every day. We’ve been handling travel bookings here for quite some time now. Most of our days are spent on the phone or staring at train schedules and flight prices on the screen for neighbors who walk in. Some regulars come by just to ask about bus timings to their home villages or to book a quick car for a family wedding nearby. We don't have any fancy furniture or shiny office stuff, just the basic desks, a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their printouts, and the computer. It gets really busy during the holiday seasons when everyone wants to go somewhere at the same time and the phones won't stop ringing. We just try to get the tickets done right and help people find a route that fits their needs. Sometimes the internet is slow or the government booking sites act up, which is a bit of a headache, but we just keep at it until it's finished. It’s a very simple, practical setup we have here in the chawl.
