Our place is in Andheri East, located at D-1/143, which is quite close to the Panchayti Gurudwara. We keep all our supplies here, so there are always stacks of poles, bundles of cloth, and boxes of lights tucked into the corners. The space is more of a warehouse than a shop. It gets pretty cramped when we have a lot of events going on at once. We spend a lot of our time loading and unloading trucks at odd hours of the night. The street outside is narrow, so we have to be careful when we are moving the big pieces of decor. Sometimes we are out for days at a time setting up for various functions around Mumbai. When we are back at the base, we are mostly checking the fabrics for holes or fixing the wiring on the light strings. It’s messy work and our hands are usually a bit dirty from the metal and the paint. We have a small area with a desk where we keep our notebooks and the calendar to see who is working where. The noise from the nearby Gurudwara is a constant part of our day. We don't have a showroom or anything to look at, just the raw materials we use for our jobs. It’s a practical workspace for a team that spends most of its time out on the road.
