Sari Ambika Dairy

You can find Sari Ambika Dairy over in Andheri East, right in the Govind Wadi area on the Andheri-Kurla Road. It is a busy stretch of road, so there is always traffic and horns honking outside. We open up very early, usually when it is still dark, because that is when the milk trucks arrive. Everything has to be unloaded and put into the coolers before the morning rush starts. We sell fresh milk, curd, and paneer. The floor is almost always a bit damp from the ice and the crates being moved around. It is a simple place with white tiles that we try to keep clean. The neighborhood people come in for their daily supplies, and we know most of them by name. We don't have any fancy displays or neon lights. It is just a basic dairy shop. Sometimes we run out of curd by midday if it is a hot day, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. The fridge is quite old and makes a loud buzzing noise, but it works well enough. We keep the bags of milk in the big blue crates. It’s a lot of heavy lifting every single day, and our backs feel it by the time we close up. We don't have a website or anything, just this physical shop where we have been for years. The cats from the alley sometimes hang around the back door, hoping for a spill. It is just a regular life here.
