Santosh Flora

We are located at 41309 Rana Ki Wadi in Dadar West. Being in Dadar means we are right in the thick of the flower trade. It is a very busy area, especially in the early hours of the morning when everything is being moved around from the wholesale market. Our shop, Santosh Flora, is just one of many, but we have our own way of doing things. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a room filled with buckets and the smell of jasmine and roses. The floors are usually a bit muddy because of the water we use, but that’s normal for a flower shop in this part of town. People come to Dadar from all over Mumbai to buy their flowers, so we see a lot of different faces. Some are looking for bulk orders for weddings, others just want a single garland for their car. We don’t make a big fuss about things. We just tell people the price and wrap things up in old newspapers. It’s how it has been done for years. Rana Ki Wadi has a lot of history and we are just a small part of it now. The work is tiring on the back and the legs, but it is steady. We just keep our heads down and focus on the day’s work. There is always a pile of leaves to sweep up at the end of the shift.
