Syscon Computers

Syscon Computers is over in Shop No.33 inside the Dhiraj Hertiage Shopping Complex on S. V. Road. If you've been around Santacruz, you probably know the building. Our shop is full of wires, monitors, and half-opened computer towers. It’s not the neatest place, but we know where every screw and cable is located. We spend most of our day hunched over a workbench with a soldering iron or a screwdriver. There’s always a fan humming in the background to keep things cool. People bring us their laptops when they won't turn on or when the screen is cracked. Sometimes it’s a quick fix and other times we have to wait for parts to arrive in the mail. We don't use a lot of technical jargon when we talk to people. We just tell them what’s broken and how long it’ll take to fix it. S. V. Road is always loud with traffic, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been in this shop for quite a while. We don't have a fancy sales team. It's just us fixing machines and selling a few parts here and there. Some days are slow and we just clean the tools. Other days, everyone seems to have a computer problem at the same time. We just take them one by one. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We just try to stay focused.
