J. K. Computers

Our shop is number 15, right across from Dakshina Park Society. It’s a small place, mostly filled with monitors, tangled cables, and old parts we haven’t gotten around to throwing away yet. If you come in, you’ll probably see a few computers opened up on the workbench with parts scattered around. It’s not the tidiest shop in the world, but we know where everything is when we need it. We spend most of our time staring at screens or trying to figure out why some old machine won’t turn on. Being near the society is nice because we get a lot of people just walking over when they have a problem. We’ve been here for a bit now, and the neighbors are used to us being here late. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when more than two people come in at once. We don't have a fancy waiting area or chairs. You just stand by the counter and talk to us while we work. We don't do much in terms of promotion or flyers. Most people find out about us because a friend or a neighbor told them to come here. It’s a lot of troubleshooting and dealing with software that doesn’t want to cooperate. Some days are slow, and other days everyone’s computer seems to break at the same time. We just take it as it comes. It's a living. We like being in this part of town. It’s easy to get to and usually pretty peaceful except for the morning traffic.
