Masani Computers

Our little spot is over at number 44/8 in the Western Railway Colony. Being in Jogeshwari East, we get a lot of people from the nearby railway quarters dropping in. The shop is usually a mess of blue VGA cables, opened-up CPU towers, and keyboards with missing keys. We spend our time squinting at motherboards and trying to figure out why a fan is making a clicking sound. It is mostly quiet work, except for the occasional beep of a computer starting up. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just a small place where we keep our screwdrivers and thermal paste handy. Sometimes a laptop comes in that is so dusty inside you can barely see the chips. We do our best to clean them out and get them running again. The space is small, so we have to stack the monitors carefully against the wall. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. There is usually a pile of old hard drives in the corner that we need to sort through eventually. We aren't trying to be a big tech hub, just a local place where you can get your screen fixed or some more memory added. The colony is pretty quiet, which is nice when you are trying to concentrate on a tricky repair job. We keep a few spare parts in the drawers, but often we have to order things in when something specific breaks down.
