Samrath Engineering Works

Our shop, Samrath Engineering Works, is situated in the Gala Commercial Complex. This is over in Mulund West on Pt. Ddu Marg, though most locals still just call it Dumping Road. It is unit 237, which is easy enough to find once you get inside the complex gates. The building is a typical commercial block with a lot of different businesses squeezed together. We focus on engineering repairs and fabrication work. The space is mostly taken up by our welding equipment and the steel piles we keep for various jobs. It gets dusty, especially with the road construction that always seems to be happening outside in Mulund. The fans in the ceiling do their best, but they mostly just move the warm air around during the summer months. We have a small table where we sit to look at drawings and eat our lunch. The work is steady and we see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood businesses coming in for quick fixes. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and everything goes silent for a bit, which gives us a chance to step out for a smoke or a tea. It is a straightforward operation without any bells or whistles. We just focus on the metalwork and making sure the measurements are right before anything leaves the door.
