Sakariya General Stores

Our shop is Sakariya General Stores, and we are situated in the Sakuntal Building on Keluskar Road. That’s in Dadar West, right near Shivaji Park. Being near the park means we see a lot of people, especially on the weekends. The shop is at number 120, and it’s been part of this building for quite a while. Mumbai is always moving fast, but Dadar has its own rhythm. We sell the usual general store items—everything from soap to biscuits. It’s a small space, so we have to be clever about how we stack the boxes. Sometimes it feels like things are piling up to the ceiling, but we know where everything is. I usually have the radio on in the background while I talk to the customers. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights; it’s just a regular Dadar shop where you can grab what you need. My father used to help out here, and now I handle most of it myself. The sidewalk outside gets crowded, but people still manage to squeeze in to buy their daily needs. We don't do anything special, just stay open long hours and keep the shelves as full as we can. It’s a simple, local business in a busy part of town. I usually spend some time in the afternoon checking the stock and ordering whatever we are running low on.
