Sainath Engineering Works

You can find us at B-11B in the Bharat Industrial Estate on T.J. Road. We are right next to Ashok Garden in Sewri West, which is a busy part of Mumbai with a lot of old buildings and factories. Sainath Engineering Works is basically a workshop filled with metal, grease, and the sound of machines grinding. The floor is concrete and usually has a few oil spots here and there from the equipment we use. We spend our days fixing parts or making new ones based on the sketches people bring us. It is loud work, and we usually have to shout over the noise to hear each other. The air smells like hot metal and cutting fluid, which is something you just get used to after a week. There is no air conditioning, so the big fans are always running, especially during the humid months. We have a small bench near the front where people wait while we finish up a small job. Our neighbors are other small workshops, so there is always a lot of clanging and truck movements in the common driveway. It is a bit of a maze inside the estate, but people who need engineering work done always seem to find their way to our door. We eat our lunch together in the back when the machines are turned off for an hour. It is a straightforward, honest place where we just focus on the metalwork.
