Saima Auto Services is located on the first floor of Room No 2 in Bhandarwa, Andheri East. We are right behind Lawrence High School, so you can usually hear the kids playing during recess while we’re working on engines. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for it, but we’ve been here long enough that the locals know where to bring their bikes and cars. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, and there’s always the smell of oil and grease in the air, which I guess is what you expect from a garage. We spend our days with our hands dirty, fixing whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a simple oil change, other times we’re trying to figure out why a motor is making a weird clicking sound. We have tools scattered around on the benches, and there’s always a half-finished cup of tea sitting somewhere. It’s a noisy, busy kind of life. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with a TV or anything. Most people just leave their keys and come back later when we tell them the job is done. It’s just honest mechanical work. We focus on the machines and try to make sure everything runs right before it leaves the shop. That’s pretty much how we spend our time from morning until we close up late at night. It is a bit messy, but the work gets finished.
