Sai Engineering Work

If you walk down into the lanes of Goregaon East, specifically around Gahdiyali Pole and Karoliya Pole, you’ll find Sai Engineering Work. It is a noisy place, mostly because of the grinding and the welding that goes on all day. We deal with a lot of metal here, so the floor is usually covered in scraps and iron dust. It gets hot in the workshop, especially when we have all the machines running at the same time. We don’t have much room for fancy things, just the tools and the workbenches. Most of the guys have been working here for years and they know the machines by the sound they make. It’s the kind of job where your hands are always dirty by lunchtime. We take in all sorts of repairs and small fabrication jobs that people bring from around the area. The poles are narrow, so getting big pieces of metal in and out can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. We don't spend much time worrying about how the front looks as long as the work gets done right. It’s a straightforward shop where people come when they need something fixed or built from scratch. Goregaon is a busy part of the city, and we just fit right into the middle of it all with our hammers and sparks. There is always something to weld or a part to smooth out before the day ends.
