We are located in the Yeshodhan Building in Borivali West, which is a busy part of the suburb. Most of our day is spent dealing with the flowers that come in from the central markets. They arrive in big bundles, and we have to sort them out before the sun starts to wilt them. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy crates and moving buckets around. The floor is almost always a bit slippery from the water, so we have to be careful. In Borivali, people are always on the move, especially near the station side, so we see a lot of commuters. We keep our shop open throughout the day, even when it’s quiet in the afternoons. Sometimes we just sit on the small stools and watch the cars go by. We don’t bother with anything too flashy. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the daily routine to think about that. When there’s a festival, things get very chaotic. We stay up late to finish orders and then get back here before dawn to start again. It’s just how it is. You get used to the rhythm of the seasons and the different types of flowers that come with them. We’ve been at this address for a while, and the neighbors know us by name. It’s a simple life, mostly spent surrounded by green stems and colorful petals.
