You can find Sadhav Offshore Engineering Co. over at Plot No.618 in Laxmi Plaza. We’re right in the middle of the Laxmi Industrial Estate on New Link Road in Andheri West. It’s a hectic part of town, always a lot of traffic and people moving around. Our space is usually filled with blueprints and technical manuals. We deal with offshore stuff, so there is always talk about ships, rigs, and marine equipment. It’s a specific kind of work that requires a lot of patience. Most of the staff has been here for years and they know the ins and outs of the maritime industry. We aren’t really the type to wear suits. Usually, it’s just work shirts and boots because we spend a lot of time checking on equipment or meeting with technicians. The office can get a bit cluttered with samples and spare parts, but that’s just how it is when you’re busy. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here in Andheri. It’s a good location for getting things shipped out or meeting people coming from the docks. We don't make a big fuss about things. We just look at the specs, figure out the engineering side, and get the job done. It’s a lot of long hours sometimes, especially when there’s a deadline for a vessel, but we’re used to it by now. It is just the way the offshore business works in Mumbai.
