Roshni Florist

We are located right at Bhagwan Chowk in Andheri West, which stays busy from the early morning until very late at night. You can find us sitting opposite Star Bazaar and the Crystal Point mall. Being a florist means our day starts much earlier than most other people in the neighborhood. We are usually here at the shop before the sun is even up, getting the fresh stock sorted out and trimming the stems. The shop is always full of plastic buckets and cold water, and there is usually a bit of a mess on the floor with cut leaves, but that is just part of the daily job. Roshni Florist is a small operation, mostly just family members and one or two helpers. People stop by on their way to work or when they are heading home in the evening to grab something for their house. We do not have those fancy, air-conditioned displays like the big shops. We just focus on keeping the flowers fresh and ready for whoever happens to need them. Sometimes we are preparing for a big wedding, and other times it is just someone wanting a single rose for a friend. The humidity in Mumbai can be really tough on the plants, so we spend a lot of our time making sure everything stays cool and damp. It is a lot of manual work, standing all day and handling wet stems. We have been at this spot for a long time, so we know many of the regulars.
