Ritu Florist

Our shop, Ritu Florist, is located at 41308 Ashram Road in Malad West. It's a decent spot, though Ashram Road can get pretty packed with cars and bikes during peak hours. We’ve been here long enough that we know the sounds of the neighborhood by heart. Every day starts with the same routine of sweeping the front and getting the flowers into fresh water. We aren't doing anything complicated here. We just buy flowers and sell them to whoever walks in. Sometimes the stock is great, sometimes it's just okay, depending on the season and what the farmers have sent. Malad is a big area, but this little corner feels quite local. We see the same people walking their dogs or going to work every single day. The shop doesn't have any air conditioning or fancy lights, just the basics to keep things running. It gets a bit humid in the afternoons, which isn't great for some of the more delicate stems, but we do what we can with misting them and keeping them in the shade. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't really bother with big advertisements. People usually just see us while they are stuck in traffic or walking to the grocery store nearby. We just stay open until the sun goes down and then we head home like everyone else. It’s a steady job that keeps us connected to the street.
