Richmond General Store

Richmond General Store is our little shop in Bandra West, specifically at Louis Belle on the corner of 16th and 30th Road. If you know the Shiv Sagar restaurant, we are right across from it. This area of Mumbai is always moving, so there is never a dull moment. We keep a variety of things, mostly the stuff you realize you forgot at the last minute, like eggs or a loaf of bread. Bandra can be expensive, but we just keep our prices normal like any other general store. The shop is small, so we have to be careful about how we organize everything on the shelves. It’s mostly just us here every day from morning till night. We see a lot of different people, from students to long-time residents who have lived in these buildings for decades. The noise from the traffic on 16th road is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We don’t have fancy displays or anything. It is just a counter and shelves full of biscuits, cleaners, and daily essentials. Sometimes the rains make things a bit difficult, but we keep the shutters up as much as we can. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood. People stop in, get their stuff, and go about their business. We like being a part of this busy corner and helping out the locals with their daily needs.
