Ramesh Masala

Ramesh Masala is located on Masjid Bunder Road and we also have the spot near hegganahalli Cross on Peenya IInd Stage Road 110. It’s always a bit dusty around here because of all the grinding we do. You can smell the chili and turmeric from down the street before you even see the sign. My father started this and now we just carry it on. Dealing with suppliers is the toughest part, especially when the rains come and everything gets damp. We spend a lot of time sorting through the raw spices to make sure there aren't too many stones or bad bits. It’s not a glamorous job, your hands end up smelling like cumin for days. We have a few old machines that need constant oiling to keep going. Customers come from all over because they know we don’t mix cheap stuff in. Sometimes we get really busy and the phone won't stop ringing for orders. It gets cramped in the warehouse when a big shipment arrives. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The traffic on Masjid Bunder Road is a nightmare, so we try to do our loading early in the morning. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and sweating. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just basic honest work with spices. Most of the staff have been with us for years now. It’s a family thing really and we just keep it going as best as we can every day without complaining.
