Raju General Stores

Raju General Stores has been sitting here in the Municipality Market at Parel for a long time. We are specifically at Shop 1/2 in the New MHB Colony area. It’s a tight space, packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things like soap, biscuits, and notebooks. I usually know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. The market is always buzzing with people arguing over prices or just chatting. We start the day by pulling up the shutters and dusting off the front counter. It’s a lot of standing around waiting for customers, then suddenly five people show up at once. We don't use any fancy computers; we mostly just write things down in a notebook or remember the prices. The building is a bit old, so the walls have some cracks, but it does the job. My family helps out during the busy hours in the afternoon. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the people living in the New MHB Colony who need to grab something quick on their way home. It’s a simple way to make a living. We just try to keep the shelves stocked with the basics and keep the change ready in the drawer. It’s just us, doing our thing in Parel every day without any fuss.
