Rajeshwar Technomech Engineers

Our office is tucked away on the second floor of Bichker Bhai House on Grant Road. It is building number 88. If you have ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how tight the streets are and how old some of these buildings can be. We have been operating from here as technomech engineers for a while. It’s mostly a lot of desks covered in drawings and spare parts sitting in the corners. We do a lot of the technical thinking here and then coordinate the actual engineering work. The lift in the building is a bit temperamental, so many of us just end up taking the stairs. It’s a busy atmosphere with the sound of the city coming in through the windows all day. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. When people visit, they usually just pull up a plastic chair and we talk about whatever project is on hand. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and making sure things are moving along. It is a bit cramped, especially when we get a big delivery, but we have learned how to use every inch of the space. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It's just a handful of us trying to keep the business going in a city that never really stops moving. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid every month.
