Rajesh Tiwari Paan Shop

My name is Rajesh and I run this small paan shop here on Old Nagards Road in Andheri East. I started this place quite some time back because I wanted to work for myself and this was what I knew. Every morning I get here early to clean the counter and arrange the leaves. It's a small spot, just enough for me to stand and for people to gather around for a bit. You see all kinds of people passing through this part of Andheri. Some are going to work and others are just walking home after a long day. I try to keep everything simple. I don’t have fancy signs or anything like that. Just the basics. People know where to find me when they want something after their meal. Sometimes the street gets really noisy with all the traffic but I’m used to it now. I have some regulars who come by every single day at the same time. We talk about the weather or whatever is happening in the neighborhood while I fix their order. It’s not a big business or anything, just a small shop to earn a living. I spend most of my day right here in this corner. It gets hot in the summer but the evening breeze is nice. If you are walking down Old Nagards Road you will see me sitting here. I’ve lived in this area for a long time so I know most of the faces and the shop has stayed the same through it all.
