Rajesh Stores

If you walk down New Mill Road in Kurla West, you will see Rajesh Stores at Shop No.5. We are right opposite to Sayba Palace, so we are pretty easy to spot if you are looking for that landmark. It’s a typical small shop where we sell all sorts of everyday items. We don't have a lot of space, so things are stacked up high on the shelves and even on the floor sometimes. Kurla West is always a bit chaotic with people rushing to the station or coming home from work. Our shop gets busy in the mornings when people are buying things for breakfast and again in the evening when they are heading back. We know most of our regulars by name and we know what they usually need before they even ask. It’s not a fancy supermarket with air conditioning; it’s just a local store where the fan hums in the corner and we keep a tally on paper. Sometimes the delivery guys are late and we have to wait around for the stock to arrive. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors who stop by for a minute. The shop has been here for a while, and the counter is worn down from years of use. It’s just a simple life running a store in a busy neighborhood like Kurla. We stay open pretty late to make sure everyone can get what they need after their shift ends.
