Rajesh General Store

I have been running this shop for a good while now here in Malad West. It is located at Shop No 225 near Gate No 7 in the P M C area, right on 9th A Main. Most days start pretty early because that is when the milk crates show up on the sidewalk and need to be brought inside. The space isn’t huge but we try to keep everything people might need on the shelves. Sometimes the boxes pile up in the corner when a big delivery comes in and I have to spend the whole afternoon sorting through packets of biscuits and soap. It gets a bit dusty because of the traffic outside but that is just how it is in this part of town. People from the nearby buildings stop by on their way home to grab a few things they forgot. I usually sit behind the counter near the front. The fan overhead makes a clicking sound that I have gotten used to over the years. It is a simple setup really. I know where every single item is kept even if it looks a bit crowded to someone walking in for the first time. We have the usual stuff like lentils, rice, and snacks in plastic jars. It is just a regular place where the locals come to get their daily supplies without any fuss. The 1st Stage area is always busy so there is always something to look at through the door. I suppose it’s not much to look at but it works for us.
