Radhakrishna Restaurant

Our place is right there near the station, in the old Dwarkadas Jadhavji Natu Chawl. You have probably seen us if you take the train every day. It’s always noisy outside because of the traffic on Kasturba Road, but inside we just focus on the cooking. We’ve been here a long time now. People come in when they are tired from commuting. It’s not fancy at all. The walls could use some paint maybe, but the stove is always going. We open early because the station crowd is already moving before the sun is fully up. My father used to say the location is everything, and being opposite Uco Bank helps people find us without much trouble. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the menu by heart. Sometimes it gets really crowded during lunch and people have to wait, but that’s just how it is here in Mumbai. We try to keep the tables clean and the water glasses full. It's a simple life running a kitchen in Borivali East. We see the same faces every morning. If you're coming from the station, just look across the road and you'll spot us. We don't do anything special, just the usual stuff that people like to eat when they are in a hurry or just want to sit down for twenty minutes before heading home. The area has changed a lot, but this spot stays the same.
