R. S. Movies & Music is tucked away near Rajiv Gandhi Chowk in Ulhasnagar No 3. If you know where the Ganesh Temple in Shanti Nagar is, then you are basically right there. We are in a busy part of Thane where there’s always something happening on the streets. Our shop is small, filled with rows of stuff that we’ve collected over time. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a while just looking through the stacks. We’ve seen the way people listen to music change over the years, from tapes to whatever it is now, but we still like having a physical shop. The area around Ulhasnagar No 3 is always noisy with shoppers and rickshaws, but once you step inside, it’s a bit different. We handle a lot of different titles and recordings. It’s not a shiny mall store with bright neon lights. It’s more of a local spot where people stop by on their way home. Sometimes we just chat with the regulars about what’s new or what’s worth listening to. The shelves are a bit crowded and we might take a second to find exactly what you are looking for, but we usually know where everything is. Running a music and movie shop these days is interesting, to say the least. We keep the doors open and see who walks in. It’s a simple life near the temple, just trying to keep the business going.
