R D Printers

R D Printers is based out of Kala Killa, right on the Sion Bandra Link Road in Dharavi. We are situated right next to the Kala Killa BMC School, so we hear the kids playing and the bells ringing all day long. It's a very busy part of town with a lot of traffic passing by on the main road. The workshop is always humming with the sound of the machines, and there is usually a faint smell of ink in the air. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and we know most of the other shop owners around here. It’s a gritty area, but it has a lot of energy. We don't have a front office with fancy chairs or anything, it’s mostly just the equipment and a couple of small tables for us to work at. When the school lets out, the street gets really crowded, so we try to get our big deliveries done before that happens. The light in the shop isn't the best, but we've got enough lamps to see what we are doing. It’s hard work and it gets quite warm in here during the afternoons, but we just keep at it. We don't really do any big marketing, people just know we are the ones next to the school. It’s a honest way to spend the day. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big order to finish, and the street finally gets quiet then.
