R C Ice Cream

R C Ice Cream is tucked away near Charni Road, right by the Kotarpur Noblenagar Highway. Being so close to the highway means we get a lot of travelers. They pull over, looking a bit tired and dusty, and they just want something cold to get them through the rest of their drive. We have the freezers lined up against the wall and a small counter where I sit. It’s not a place where you’d stay for hours, but it serves its purpose. The noise from the cars and trucks is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. I’ve lived around here long enough that I don't even hear the horns anymore. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so I’m always wiping down the glass tops of the coolers. It’s a never-ending job, really. We keep a variety of stuff in stock, whatever the distributors bring us. I try to make sure we don't run out of the popular ones on the weekends. It’s just me and a helper most of the time. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city, just a reliable one for people passing through Charni Road. It’s honest work. When the sun goes down and the streetlights come on, the place looks a bit different, a bit more quiet even with the highway right there. We just keep the doors open until late and wait for the last customers.
