Our place is Shed No E in the Model Industrial Co area of Goregaon East. It’s situated right behind St Pious College, so we see the students walking back and forth all day. Being in an industrial shed means it’s exactly what you’d expect—lots of metal, some grease, and plenty of work. We focus on engineering tools. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads, but there’s always the sound of machinery or someone loading a truck nearby. The shed itself is just a big open space where we keep everything organized the best we can. It’s not air-conditioned or fancy. We like it that way because it fits the kind of work we do. Engineering isn’t always clean or pretty, and neither is our shop. We’ve been in this part of Goregaon for a while now. The neighborhood is mostly other workshops and small factories. We all kind of know each other. Most of our day is spent handling orders and looking over the tools. It’s a very hands-on type of life. We don’t spend much time in front of computers if we can help it. It’s about the physical items and making sure they’re ready for use. If you find your way behind the college, you’ll find us just doing our thing in the shed. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we enjoy the routine.
