Prakash Electrical & Hardware Stores

Prakash Electrical & Hardware Stores is situated on the ground floor at Shop No 3 in the Shanka building. We are in Santacruz East, right on French Road. If you are familiar with the Vakola Masjid, we are directly opposite to it. The shop is filled with all sorts of things like wires, switches, tools, and different kinds of plumbing parts. It is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much stock as possible onto the shelves. Sometimes you have to wait a minute while I climb a ladder to find a specific bulb or a certain size of screw. We get a lot of locals coming in for quick repairs at home or contractors looking for supplies for their jobs. It is not a shiny showroom. There is some dust on the boxes and the floor has seen better days, but we have what people need. Being near the masjid means it is always lively outside, especially on Fridays. We open up early and stay until the evening. If I am not behind the counter, my nephew is usually there to help out. We do not do any big advertising. People just know we are here because we have been on French Road for a long time. It is a straightforward hardware store where you can get a fair price for a bag of nails or a new fan motor without any fuss.
