Prakash Electric & Hardware Stores

Our shop is number 37 in the MHB Colony area of Kandivali West. We are right there on Kondhwa Road, not too far from the Bharat Petrol Pump. It’s a bit of a crowded spot, but we’ve been here long enough that most locals know the way. We keep a lot of stuff packed into the shelves, from light bulbs and wires to hammers and boxes of screws. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly where everything is because the space is small, but we usually know which pile to look in. It's mostly me and a helper running back and forth. People come in when a tap leaks or a fuse blows at home. We don't really do big fancy displays. It's more about having the basic things people need for their houses. The dust gets on everything because of the road outside, so we spend some time cleaning the counters every morning. We get deliveries of new stock a couple of times a week. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by the petrol pump. Other days, three people want something at the same time and it gets a bit chaotic. We just try to keep the shop running and help whoever walks through the door.
