Pooja Ice Cream Parlour

You can find us on Chauri Sarak in the Lower Parel area. It is a very busy street with a lot of traffic and people walking by all the time. The shop is small and we mostly focus on serving the ice cream quickly to whoever comes in. We have different flavors in the tubs and some pre-packaged ones in the display case too. It gets really humid in Lower Parel, so having a cold place to step into for a minute helps. We do not have much room for people to sit down, so they usually just stand on the sidewalk outside. The fridge makes a lot of noise, but you stop noticing it after you have been here for a few hours. We get all kinds of customers, from office workers in their suits to families out for a walk. Sometimes the supply is a bit late and we have to tell people we are out of mango or chocolate for the day. It is just a normal shop. We keep the floor swept and the glass clean so you can see the flavors clearly. The lights are bright because the street gets dark early with all the tall buildings around us. We stay open late into the night. It is a simple way to earn a living. We have been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name. There isn't much to it, just keeping things cold and serving the customers.
